Reservations are necessary, and pretty far in advance. They have a Michelin star and promote a show with your meal as you can watch these chefs as they craft beautiful pieces of art out of fish and rice.
It may be worth bringing more money than you need, as the prices for these meals change based on who is performing the service.
The meal is usually simple, with beautiful nigiri slices, rolls, and fried pieces of fish.
A Figueira Rubaiyat
If you want a stunning restaurant that catches your attention from the moment you walk through the door, you would be hard-pressed to find a place that does that better than A Figueira Rubaiyat. They have a Bengal fig tree that is over 100 years old that is visible thanks to a clear glass roof.
The food is also pulled right in from the estate of the owners themselves. Their beef is fresh, local, and the star of the show. The menu leans towards Mediterranean fare and focuses on many fresh ingredients.
Even the drinks are a must, with cocktails, beers, and wines of luxuriously high quality. Some of their menu items include:

Fogo de Chao
Fogo de Chao is now an internationally known restaurant. However, that doesn’t mean you should miss some of the originals found in Brazil. The original was started in Porto Alegre in 1979.
One of the restaurants is located near Botafogo Bay and offers scenic views of the bay as well as Sugarloaf Mountain to bring you beauty and peace while eating your meal.
The meal is Brazilian through and through, offering a traditional steakhouse menu full of meat-filled dishes to feed your appetite. They keep their standards throughout the world, so you won’t be disappointed with whichever one you try.
Ostradamus
Ostradamus, located in Ribeirão da Ilha, is a seafood restaurant. It offers a glass deck and many different kinds of different seafood.

- Oysters
- Calamari
- Squid
So no matter what kind of seafood you enjoy, you will find something to like here. The prices are a little high, but the portions are large, and they allow you to take the leftovers home. It is usually booked, but if you come during the off-season or plan ahead, you have the chance of scoring a seat early on.
The seafood is all regional so you can really get a taste of local Brazilian seafood.
Salome
If you want something that has a little lighter fare, the Salome Bistro in Rio de Janeiro is a great place to try. It is a Tapas Bar, allowing you to try a little of all the cuisine. Many claim them to have excellent gastronomic experiences that they haven’t seen the equal of before.
On top of beautiful snacks and light fare, they offer many different drinks, from wine to cocktails that are unique to the area.
The building itself is unique as well, with mirrors, plants, and interesting wall art throughout.
No matter what your taste in food is, you won’t be disappointed with Salome’s menu. They offer a mix of Brazilian fare and international food so you can eat whatever your heart desires.
